The Center for Minority Veterans is part of the Office of the Secretary.  The Center assists eligible Veterans in their efforts to receive benefits and services from VA.  The Center acts only as a mediator and facilitator — As such the Center does not process claims, handle equal employment complaints, or employee relation problems.  The Center is dedicated to ensuring that all Veterans are aware of benefits, services, and programs offered by VA.

The Center for Women Veterans was established by Congress in November 1994 by Public Law (P.L.) 103-446.

 

- Monitor and coordinate VA’s administration of health care and benefits services, and programs for women Veterans.

- Serve as an advocate for a cultural transformation (both within VA and in the general public) in recognizing the service and contributions of women Veterans and women in the military.

- Raise awareness of the responsibility to treat women Veterans with dignity and respect.

The Clarksville Clinic opened in 2000 and provides services for veterans in Kentucky and Tennessee. This is an active clinic for Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom returnees with its close proximity to Fort Campbell.

 - Primary care and mental health services available.

 - Laboratory: Blood drawing services available.

 - Prescriptions: Routine prescriptions processed through the mail or on the MyHealtheVet website.

The Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) program offers education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of Veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or of Veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition.

The Hopkinsville VA Outpatient Clinic is a contract clinic that currently offers primary care to Veterans in the Hopkinsville area.

 

 - Although not currently available, mental health services will soon be offered by appointment. 

 - Veterans can call Felicia Betts-Gonzales at (615) 873-8422 to transfer their care to the Hopkinsville clinic or may contact the clinic directly.

The mission of the Military Order of the Purple Heart's National Service Program is to provide free assistance, service, and representation to United States veterans and their dependents, survivors, widows, and orphans throughout the country.

 

Our National Service Officers (NSO) are accredited veterans representatives. NSOs represent claimants seeking benefits for compensation, pension, medical care, education, death, and burial benefits to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) has founded a National Call Center for Homeless Veterans hotline to ensure that homeless Veterans or Veterans at-risk for homelessness have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. The hotline is intended to assist homeless Veterans and their families, VA Medical Centers, federal, state and local partners, community agencies, service providers  and others in the community.  To be connected with a trained VA staff member call 1-877-4AID VET (877-424-3838).

NCA honors Veterans and their families with final resting places in national shrines and with lasting tributes that commemorate their service and sacrifice to our Nation.

 

NCA Purpose
 - To provide burial space for Veterans and their eligible family members.
 - To maintain national cemeteries as national shrines, sacred to the honor and memory of those interred or memorialized there.
 - To mark Veterans' graves with a Government-furnished headstone, marker or medallion and to provide Presidential Memorial Certificates in recognition of their service to a grateful nation.
 - To administer grants for establishing or expanding state and tribal government veterans cemeteries.

Vet Centers serve veterans and their families by providing a continuum of quality care, which adds value for  veterans, families and communities.
