AER is a private nonprofit organization incorporated in 1942 by the Secretary of War and the Army Chief of Staff. AER's sole mission is to help Soldiers and their Families.

AER is the Army's own emergency financial assistance organization and is dedicated to "Helping the Army Take Care of Its Own." AER funds are used to provide emergency financial assistance in the form of grants, no-interest loans and scholarships to soldiers - active & retired - and their dependents when there is a valid need.

Eligibility for AER assistance is restricted to active duty and retired Soldiers and their dependents; Army National Guard Soldiers on Title 10 orders for 30 or more days; Army Reserve Soldiers on orders for 30 or more days.  Retired Army National Guard and Army Reserve Soldiers, receiving retirement pay from DFAS are also eligible.  The children of “gray area” retirees are eligible to apply for scholarships.

ClearPoint’s counselors help consumers identify the causes of their individual financial problems and make a plan to address them. Free and low-cost services are available nationally by phone and Internet and via face-to-face counseling at our branch locations.

For 50 years, ClearPoint has provided financial counseling and education to our nation’s heroes as part of crisis counseling programs, but in recent years the nonprofit has seen an increasing need for services targeted to meet the needs of active duty military personnel and veterans. In response to this need, the agency created the ClearPoint ReConnect program.

As a HUD National Intermediary, housing services are a key part of the ReConnect program.  Foreclosure prevention remains the primary service provided to active duty military personnel and veterans, but the ReConnect program offers a combination of counseling and education services.  This holistic program helps with a range of services, from foreclosure prevention to homeownership to basic budgeting and debt reduction.

The Fort Campbell Fisher House provides a home away from home for military families travelling to the local area to receive medical treatment or to be with a hospitalized family member.  While here, families enjoy all the comforts of home, to include a fully stocked kitchen and laundry room.  We are an Army Fisher House and operate as a Non-Appropriated Fund activity, which means we are not govt funded – we rely heavily on community donations to operate the program and to provide for our families.  Our guest families pay nothing out of pocket for their stay.
